Cisco Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller provides a rich choice of life cycle management, discovery, end-to-end automation and visibility for LAN, SAN and IP media fabrics. Once downloaded to the Nexus Dashboard, network operators can choose one of three different modes to reduce the complexities and costs of operating Cisco Nexus and Cisco SAN deployments.
1. Fabric Discovery for LAN deployments: Provides discovery and inventory functions for IT teams that automate their switch configuration and provisioning by different means. Fabric Discovery enables deployment of Cisco Nexus Dashboard Insight capabilities without deploying the Fabric Controller.
2. Fabric Controller for LAN deployments: Provides comprehensive management, control, monitoring and visibility for various network fabrics including VXLAN networks, Layer 3 routed networks, 3-tier vPC designs and IP based broadcast media fabrics.
3. SAN Controller: Provides a single pane of glass to manage and monitor storage networks built with Cisco MDS multilayer SAN switches and Nexus switches. Enables SAN insights to collect and visualize Cisco MDS SAN analytics data and capabilities.
